Our Story

Every Expression Therapies | About Us

Every Expression Therapies began as a shared dream between us – Cloe and Jemma – long before it became a physical space in Newhaven. As our lives intertwined, so did our professional paths, each of us exploring different aspects of human wellbeing. One evening, during a quiet moment, we sketched out a vision: a practice where creative counselling and advanced clinical massage could exist side by side, where the wisdom of the body and the depths of emotional experience were equally honoured. That sketch became the blueprint for what we now offer – a thoughtful integration of our expertise, shaped by our belief that true healing encompasses both physical and emotional dimensions.

Meet Your Therapists:

Cloe - Creative Counsellor

Person with long curly hair wearing a floral patterned shirt, smiling slightly against a plain background.

My path to becoming a therapist emerged from a lifetime of exploring human expression through movement and art. As a dancer first, then a facilitator of creative spaces, I discovered the profound impact of allowing people to express themselves in their own unique ways. This understanding deepened through my work across different cultures and communities, each experience reinforcing the power of creative expression in healing.

Today, I combine this background with professional therapeutic training to create possibilities for exploration and growth. My approach draws from both established therapeutic practices and creative interventions, offering alternatives to traditional talk therapy when needed.

What drives my work is a commitment to making therapy accessible and meaningful for people who might not connect with conventional approaches. Through creative counselling, I've developed ways to work effectively with clients who process their experiences differently, whether through movement, art, or alternative forms of expression.

Jemma - Advanced Clinical Massage Therapist

My fascination with the human body and its incredible capacity for healing has shaped my entire approach to massage therapy. I'm captivated by the intersection of scientific understanding and hands-on care, always seeking to bridge the gap between research and practical application.

In my role as Course Coordinator at the Jing Institute, I help develop the next generation of advanced massage therapists, constantly deepening my own understanding of how touch can transform people's lives. This teaching experience enriches my clinical work, keeping me at the forefront of developments in pain science and body-centered approaches to healing.

What excites me most is helping people understand their bodies better. Whether I'm working with persistent pain or supporting someone through physical challenges, I believe in combining practical techniques with education, empowering clients to participate actively in their own healing process.

Our Combined Vision

Every Expression Therapies represents more than the sum of our individual practices. As partners in both life and work, we've created a space where physical and emotional care naturally complement each other. Our recent move to Newhaven marks an exciting new chapter, allowing us to bring our inclusive approach to wellness to the East Sussex community.

We understand that healing rarely fits into neat categories. Physical pain can have emotional roots, while emotional challenges often manifest in the body. Our complementary skills allow us to offer support that acknowledges these connections, whether you work with one or both of us.

Professional Ethics and Care

We maintain clear professional boundaries while creating an environment of genuine care and understanding. All client work is held in strict confidence, following our professional bodies' ethical frameworks. Our focus remains steadfast on providing skilled, ethical care that honors your individual needs and preferences.
