Advanced Massage Therapy for Pain Relief

Pain is complex and unique to each person. At Every Expression Therapies, I offer advanced massage therapy using The Jing Method™ - combining effective hands-on techniques with modern pain science understanding. Through a blend of sports massage, myofascial release, deep tissue work, and gentle manual therapy, we work together to improve your quality of life. Based in Newhaven, East Sussex, I provide an inclusive, understanding space where all bodies are welcomed and respected.

Jemma’s Approach

My approach to massage is integrative, combining various modalities (Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Thai, Shiatsu etc.) and techniques (trigger point therapy, myofascial release, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation etc.) to best meet your needs and desired outcome. You are always at the centre of our work, and together, we’ll discover the most effective approach for you.

As a teacher at the UK’s premier massage school, The Jing Institute of Massage and Complementary Medicine, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our sessions. I am highly skilled in The Jing Method™ and passionate about helping you achieve your wellness goals through a personalised massage experience.

I conduct thorough orthopaedic assessments to create massage treatment plans tailored specifically to your needs. By carefully observing, inquiring, and responding to your individual goals and desired outcomes, I ensure a supportive and responsive therapeutic experience.

I focus on creating a secure environment and we work at your own pace. My massages aim to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and foster a positive outlook on your path to pain-free living.

The Jing Method™

The Jing Method™ is a holistic approach designed to alleviate persistent pain and improve overall well-being. Developed by the experts at The Jing Institute of Advanced Massage Training, The Jing Method™ uses a range of advanced massage techniques, such as myofascial release, trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage, and stretching. These techniques are particularly helpful for easing musculoskeletal problems like back pain, neck pain, and joint stiffness. Additionally, massage can benefit systemic conditions such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and certain types of headaches.

The Jing Method™ is built on the understanding that pain is influenced by a mix of physical, emotional, and social factors. This approach, known as the biopsychosocial model, recognises that pain isn’t just about what's happening in your body—it also involves your mind and environment. Modern pain science tells us that persistent pain often lingers not just because of physical issues but also due to stress, emotional health, and even your social life. By addressing all these areas, The Jing Method™ offers a well-rounded and effective way to manage pain.

Your Path to Pain Relief and Inclusive Care

What to Expect

  • We begin with an in-depth consultation.

Understand Your Pain: We listen attentively to your story, gaining insight into your pain history, its triggers, and how it affects your daily life.

Identify Your Goals: By understanding what you hope to achieve—whether it's reducing pain, improving mobility, or enhancing overall quality of life—we can tailor our approach to meet your specific needs.

Create a Personalised Plan: Based on the assessment, we design a bespoke treatment plan. This plan is dynamic and evolves as your condition improves, ensuring ongoing effectiveness.

  • Here's how we craft your plan:

Targeted Techniques: We select from a variety of advanced techniques, including myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and advanced soft tissue manipulation, to target specific areas of pain.

Holistic Integration: Recognising that pain affects both body and mind, we incorporate holistic approaches to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and support emotional well-being.

Progress Monitoring: We regularly assess your progress and adjust your treatment plan as needed. This ensures that we are always moving towards your desired outcomes effectively.

This plan is dynamic and adjusts as your condition improves.

  • Continuous Monitoring: We keep track of your progress, making adjustments to your treatment plan as necessary to ensure optimal results.

Education and Empowerment: We educate you on techniques and practices you can incorporate into your daily routine to manage pain and prevent future issues.

Holistic Wellness: Our support extends beyond the treatment room, offering guidance on lifestyle changes, stress management, and self-care practices to enhance your overall well-being.

Our goal is not just temporary relief but lasting change.

Treatment Phases:

Our treatments are structured to provide you with the most effective and lasting relief:

Initial Intensive Phase: We begin with weekly sessions to tackle your pain head-on. During this phase, our primary aim is to see a reduction in your pain levels and an improvement in your range of movement.

Progressive Phase: As we start to notice positive changes, your sessions will be adjusted to a fortnightly schedule. This phase continues until your symptoms are significantly reduced and manageable.

Maintenance Phase: Once you are experiencing sustained relief, we will transition you to a maintenance schedule of every 4-8 weeks. This helps to keep your pain at bay and ensures you continue to enjoy an improved quality of life.
